THE 75 years anniversary of the introduction of the Anglican Church at Teshie in Accra has been launched by Most Rev. Dr. Ofei Akrofi, the Anglican Archbishop of West Africa.
A solemn mass including special prayers for parishioners of 70 years and above and a photo exhibition were held as part of the ceremony.
In a sermon, the Most Rev. Dr. Akrofi asked parishioners to emulate the life of Christ as exemplified in the works of St. Bartholomew, the patron saint of the local Teshie Anglican Church.
Mr Josiah W. Ampiah, the chairman of the 75th anniversary planning committee, said the anniversary offers a rare opportunity for the church to re-appraise and reassert itself in its evangelical responsibility.
That, he said, includes fostering a deeper bonding, friendship, fellowship and fellow feeling.
Among the activities lined up are a quiz by Obonu FM, time with Teshie fisher folks, games festival, seminar, Barthlofest, health walk and medical screening.
It will be rounded off on September 12, this year with an anniversary and thanksgiving service.
